The Epic of Gilgamesh with the Kingston Symphony Orchestra

The Isabel Voices joins forces with the Kingston Symphony Orchestra for a rare performance of Bohuslav Martinů’s astonishing The Epic of Gilgamesh. This monumental oratorio brings to life one of humanity’s oldest surviving stories — a sweeping tale of heroism, friendship, and the search for meaning.

Martinů’s score is bold, cinematic, and emotionally charged, tracing the mythological adventures of Gilgamesh and his devoted companion, Enkidu. Together, the two heroes confront gods, monsters, and their own mortality, forging a bond that has resonated across millennia. With its powerful choral writing, gripping narrative, and orchestral brilliance, The Epic of Gilgamesh offers an unforgettable musical journey through a world where legends walk and destinies collide.

This collaboration between The Isabel Voices and the Kingston Symphony Orchestra promises an evening of extraordinary scale and artistry — a chance to experience an ancient epic reimagined through the full force of modern musical expression.
