Join us August 21st at 11 AM at CFRC for another engaging Airwave YGK Workshop brought to our community through the generous support of Kingston Arts Council and the City of Kingston. The event is FREE to attend!The workshop, held in CFRC 101.9 FM's lounge (62 Fifth Field Company Lane) will be led by Marc Garniss, co-founder of KPP Concerts, Spring Reverb and The Broom Factory and also Executive Director of the Kingston Canadian Film Festival. Marc recorded and toured with metal band I Hate Sally from 2001-2008, playing all over Canada, the US, and Europe, and released two albums on Underground Operations/Vagrant Records.Young and emerging musicians who have participated in CFRC's Airwave YGK Artist Residency projects and members of the public are invited to register, attend and learn from this industry pro! Space is limited, please register now!At this event, come learn about getting your band booked, applying to festivals, procuring booking agents, touring, funding, and other tips and tricks for emerging musicians and bands. CFRC Technical and Music Manager Chancelor Maracle will also be there to share details on how local musicians can submit music to CFRC and other campus/community radio stations easily anytime!There will be a short presentation followed by a question and answer period.
