Drawn to Nature: A Rural Art Party

Join us for Drawn to Nature, a rural art party where creativity is casual and community is the focus.

We’re setting up long tables covered in paper, drawing prompts and art stations, live artist demos, a DJ, and snacks - all in the cozy indoor space at Rideau Acres Campground. If the weather’s good, you’ll also find outdoor lounge stations where you can sketch, snack, or just hang out. We’ll also be creating a 16-foot collaborative mural throughout the night to capture the spirit of the event - everyone’s welcome to add their mark.

Whether you draw every day or haven’t picked up a pencil in years, this night is for you. We recommend the event for ages 10 and up.

What to Expect:

  • Art stations and games

  • Live artist demos by Beth McCaldon (@missmosshartington) and Taylor Tye (@jackpine.designs)

  • DJ & music

  • Snacks and supplies provided

  • Outdoor “lounge” stations (weather permitting)

About Draw by Night Kingston

We are a volunteer- and women-led community group that’s been hosting laid-back art events and workshops since 2023. Our goal is simple: make art more accessible, creative spaces more welcoming, and give people a reason to gather that doesn’t require being “good at art.” With support from the City of Kingston’s Rural Community Program Fund, we’re taking the event out of the city for a night.

* Photographs and/or video will be taken at the event. By taking part in this event you grant the event organizers full rights to use the images resulting from the photography/video filming, and any reproductions or adaptations of the images for fundraising, publicity or other purposes to help achieve the group’s aims. This might include (but is not limited to), the right to use them in their printed and online publicity, social media, press releases and funding applications. If you do not wish to be photographed please inform the event organizer.
