In Italy, it is a tradition to roast chestnuts in the fall. There is even a traditional social event, called La Castagnata, which is something the Italo-Canadian Club of Kingston hosts each year, welcoming members and guests to enjoy freshly roasted chestnuts while sipping on wine and socializing with family and friends.
Last year, we combined this annual event with a Christmas Market and it was a success, so we're doing it again! From 11am-3pm, come shop and support 20 local vendors to find all your gifting needs.
Freshly roasted chestnuts will be available for purchase and eating in the Saletta from 1pm-3pm. (Free to ICC Members. Price TBD for non-members.) The bar will be open during this time, offering specialty Christmas Cocktails (and regular bar staples), and a complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate station will be set-up for anyone to enjoy all day.
Christmas Carolers from the award-winning Greater Kingston Chorus will be making appearances between 12pm-2pm. 🎵
In addition to all of the local vendors present, our frozen food products will also be available to purchase and take home.
