If you’re looking for organic farm‑fresh ice cream or an eclectic array of flavour combinations, check out these ice cream shops just west of Kingston’s downtown.

RS36248 limestone creamery 037

Limestone Organic Creamery

3127 Sydenham Road

Take the trip out to the Kingston countryside to this family-owned creamery that makes its own ice cream using milk from grass‑fed, rotationally grazed cows.

The Groenewegen family built their own on-farm creamery and store, where they now produce milk, butter, cream, and freshly churned ice cream.

Reids Dairy

Reid’s Dairy

1695 Bath Road

This beloved ice cream store that looks like a storybook castle—complete with a tower and flag—has been serving their ice cream made with Ontario dairy since 1910. Their ice creams are made fresh with 100% Canadian cream, handed out in big portions at very affordable prices. They offer classic flavours from mint chip to birthday cake. You can also pick up some milk, cheese, and butter from their freezer section.

Mile And A Quarter

Mile and a Quarter Ice Cream

772 Blackburn Mews

Mile and a Quarter is not short on flavour options. Offering 50 flavours, from fruity to decadent, there’s something for everyone at this west-end ice cream joint.

You can dip your red velvet or vanilla soft serve in a variety of dips like Biscoff or peanut butter. As well as their soft serve, Mile and a Quarter offers Kawartha Dairy ice cream, and a pineapple Dole-Whip inspired by the large, white and yellow cups of sugar you can get at Disney World.
