15 things to do during March Break 2026

Kingston offers a well-rounded mix of activities for March Break, with experiences that balance history, culture, and active fun. Take a trolley tour through the city, explore museums, try rock climbing, tackle an escape room, or catch a classic movie. However you plan your week, there’s plenty to discover in Kingston.

  1. Maple Madness 1

    1641 Perth Rd. (Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area)

    Maple Madness will run every weekend in March and throughout the week of March Break. Activities include self-guided sugar bush tours, wagon rides, pancakes at the sugar shack, face painting, and maple-themed crafts and games. Online registration is required (entrance fee the day of is $5.25 for adults, $3.75 for children, $18 maximum per family). See website for more event details and activities.


     

  2. 01 March museums

    Enjoy a week-long festival of museums in Kingston. This free event runs March 16–20, with 18 Kingston and surrounding area museums, galleries, and historic sites offering family-friendly activities. Learn about the history of the sites, get creative with crafts, enjoy shows and presentations, and have fun! 

    For added fun, try to “Find the Ducks” from March 16–20 (during each location’s hours of operation). There are 40 green ducks hiding at various sites. Once you’ve found the green ducks, don’t forget to snap a picture and share it with @kingstonmuseums on Facebook, Instagram, or X.

    Improbable Escapes offers in-person and online escape rooms. At Improbable Escapes, enjoy indoor, outdoor, and online escape room experiences. Try Seven Dwarfs: Mining Mission in-person (family-friendly for all ages) or The Triwizard Trials (family-friendly for all ages) for a harder escape room experience.     Practice your climbing skills at The Boiler Room, Kingston’s indoor rock-climbing gym. This space has different options for all ages and skill levels, from beginners to Olympian-level climbers. The types of climbing available include auto-belays, top rope with off-harness belaying, and lead climbing. If you like your experience and want to do more, check out their kids and teens program and personal training.

  6. Splitsville

    Open: Sun.–Tues., 10 am–11 pm, Wed.–Thur., 10 am–midnight, Fri.–Sat., 10 am–1 am

    At Splitsville, enjoy 10-pin bowling, a new arcade, and a full-service bar and lounge. Its fun and energetic atmosphere makes this a great spot to gather with friends and family to play some games this March Break. Reserve a bowling lane online and get ready for some friendly competition!

  7. 12 Indoor trampoline park

    Enjoy Kingston’s trampoline park with your kids this March Break. Jump together on the main court, challenge each other on the dunk court and the dodgeball court, and take your little ones to the kiddie court. On Friday nights, enjoy lights and music plus a free G2/Gatorade during JR Xtreme night 7 – 9 pm (kids under 12) and Xtreme night 9 – 11 pm (12+).

  8. Kingston Frontenacs Game

    1 The Tragically Hip Way (Slush Puppie Place)

    Cheer on the Kingston Frontenacs on March 18 and 20 at Slush Puppie Place. Watch Kingston’s local hockey team as they play against the Barrie Colts and the Peterborough Petes.   10. Marchbreak

    The Screening Room offers $6 kid-friendly movies throughout March Break. Films include Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Princess Diaries, Mulan, and more. Kids’ combos (small popcorn + juice box) will be $6. Babies/toddlers age 2 and under (who can sit on a lap) are free.

  11. The Haunted Walk

    200 Ontario St.

    Take a guided stroll through Kingston and learn about the spooky history and stories about each location (hotels, courtyards, and burial grounds). See more details on their website.

  12. Kingston Trolley Tours

    209 Ontario St.

    Enjoy a one-hour guided trolley tour (no stops) through downtown Kingston covering all of the city’s historic old town and downtown shopping district. Tours begin from 209 Ontario St. on March 14, 15, 21 & 22 at 11 am and 1 pm. See ticket option on their website.


     

  13. 13 Rocking Horse

    193 Princess St.

    Enjoy a morning of sparkle & shine at The Rocking Horse on March 20 at 10 am. Kids will create their own custom lip gloss and enjoy a mini manicure in this guided, hands on session. They will choose their colours, mix their gloss, and take home something they made themselves.

    Cost: $15/child

    This class is designed for kids who love to express themselves, explore colour, and have a little fun with friends.

    Get creative this March Break at Martello Alley with a week of free, hands-on workshops for all ages. Enjoy daily activities including watercolours, quilling, bookmark making, collage, embossing, and stamping, led by local artists throughout the week.

    Workshops run daily from 1:00 to 3:00 pm during March Break. Participation is free, and all materials are provided.

    Cravin' is offering three Half Day Camps from 9am-1pm for March Break for ages 6-10: Kid Chef's Winter Holiday In March on Monday, March 16, Kid Chef's Journey to Italy on Wednesday, March 18, and Kid Chef's: Bake it till you make it on Friday, March 20.
