Sound to Screen: Music Supervision & Sync in Canada
Join us on Thursday, February 26, for Sound to Screen: an industry panel and networking mixer in collaboration with the Kingston Canadian Film Festival, with support from the Kingston Music Office and Canada’s Music Incubator.
Whether you’re new to the sync world or looking to deepen your industry relationships, Sound to Screen is a chance to learn from industry leaders and connect with fellow professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment. A casual mixer will follow to encourage relationship-building opportunities and peer-to-peer connections among Kingston’s creative community.

Creative Industries Day
Creative Industries Day is a collaboration between the Kingston Canadian Film Festival (KCFF) and the Department of Film & Media at Queen’s University, taking place on Friday, February 27 at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts.
Held annually as part of KCFF, the event connects aspiring filmmakers, students, musicians, and media professionals with industry experts through panels, workshops, networking sessions, and keynote presentations. Focused on the practical and creative sides of Canada’s film and media landscape, Creative Industries Day explores topics including production, funding, distribution, digital storytelling, live production, and emerging industry trends — offering attendees insight, tools, and inspiration to support their creative careers.

International Women's Day Showcase
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Miss Emily and the Kingston Music Office, with support from CFRC Music, are thrilled to co-present an afternoon of music, conversation, and community at the Broom Factory on Saturday, March 7, from 1 to 3 pm. This special event showcases the incredible talents of women and non-binary songwriters in Kingston, featuring performances by Luella, Piner, Kyra and Atiari.
Following the performances, an engaging fireside chat, moderated by Margaret Evans of Balancing Act, will delve into the artists’ experiences in the music industry, exploring creativity, songwriting, and the challenges of navigating the industry as underrepresented voices.
Plus, connect with and support local creative collaborators, including Jaylene Cardinal (W.C. Creatives), Shiva Delight, Commanda Collective, and Angela Stever, featuring handcrafted art, skincare, beadwork, and wellness-inspired creations.

Connecting Communities Through DIY Event Planning
Planning a DIY show or community event in Kingston?
Join Laura Kelly of Many Moons Events for a free DIY Event Promotion Workshop on Sunday, March 8, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Many Moons (12 Cataraqui St, Studio 1). Using Slow Dance, Many Moons’ longest-running community event, as a case study, Laura will share the step-by-step framework that has sustained the event for 17 years, along with practical insights on connecting with diverse audiences, building longevity, and creating experiences people return to year after year. The workshop includes a Q&A and is free to attend, with limited spots available.
