BANDWIDTH is a monthly series of panel discussions and networking events designed for musicians and music-fans of all ages and experience levels. Each BANDWIDTH event will feature a moderated panel discussion by music industry experts & professionals, followed by an audience-driven Q&A and networking opportunity. This series will be free and open to everyone! The goal of this project will be to strengthen Kingston’s music scene through professional development, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and networking.

Whether you’re a seasoned performer or stepping onto the stage for the first time, the Youth Open Mic is your platform to showcase your creativity and passion. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to connect with other local youth musicians and expand your network. Bring your family and friends, admission is free!

Thanks to our partnership with Long & McQuade Kingston, we are raffling off a guitar at our Youth Open Mic series. Each performance earns you an entry. The more you perform, the better your chances. The winner will be announced at our May event.

Skeleton Park Arts Fest
Celebrate the summer solstice at the 20th annual Skeleton Park Arts Festival, running June 20 to 22 in McBurney Park! Alongside an incredible lineup of performers like Cadence Weapon, Mimi O’Bonsawin, Tiny Horse, and Trash Panda Brass Band, this year’s festival also features free, artist-led workshops and panels co-presented by the Kingston Music Office.
Page to Stage: Voicing Your Verses
Next Church, Saturday, June 21, from 2 to 3 pm
This workshop features rapper Cadence Weapon (aka Rollie Pemberton, former Edmonton Poet Laureate), Kingston's Poet Laureate Sadiqa de Meijer and local vocalist, poet and spoken word artist J-Marsh. In this workshop, all three artists will discuss how they develop and utilize their verse, from writing poems to crafting lyrics and transitioning between genres. This free event encourages everyone with a creative spark to get writing without worrying about 'doing it wrong'.

Sounding Off on Queer Joy
Next Church, Sunday, June 22, from 2 to 3 pm
This panel discussion is lead by proudly queer Kingston vocalist, poet, and activist Jermaine Marshall, and feature artists from Kingston band Tiny Horse and Toronto's here and queer Trash Panda Brass Band. They will discuss the importance of queer joy, queer art, and the issues facing queer artists in our current social and political landscape.
