Step back in time at the PumpHouse and explore the original steam pumps that powered Kingson’s first water pumping station. Filled with history, trains, toys, and exhibits the PumpHouse encourages the love of science, engineering, art, and math in visitors of all ages.
The museum is located within the historic grounds of one of Canada's earliest waterworks and is a testament to Kingston's rich heritage. Dating back to 1851, this remarkable site once powered steam-driven pumps that brought the marvel of running water to Kingston's residents. Today, it is one of only six preserved water pumping stations in North America.

Discover the incredible story of how dinosaurs continue to thrive around us today through their avian descendants! The PumpHouse Museum is thrilled to present this extraordinary panel exhibition on loan from the American Museum of Natural History.
Complementing the main exhibition, visitors can explore touchable artifacts on loan from the Royal Ontario Museum, including real dinosaur fossils, a prehistoric ostrich skull, and full raptor casts. Additionally, the Miller Museum of Geology presents a featured display highlighting fascinating fossils from the Kingston area. This engaging, year-long exhibit will captivate visitors of all ages by exploring the evolutionary journey from ancient, feathered dinosaurs to the birds we see today.
