Kingston Script to Screen is a live, behind-the-scenes pitch event at KCFF26 where five selected creators take the stage to present their original film and television ideas to a panel of industry experts. All in real-time, all in front of you - the live audience.
Presented in collaboration with Kingston Film and Media, this event pulls back the curtain on one of the most exciting and mysterious parts of the industry: the pitch. Whether you’re a film fan, a curious creative, or someone who’s always wondered “How do projects actually get made?” this is your chance to see it happen live.
Over the course of the event, you'll watch five original scripted and unscripted projects pitched live on stage, with industry experts offering real-time, constructive feedback; giving you a clear look at how ideas are evaluated and refined.
One winning creator will receive an all-access paid pass to key industry events later in the year, along with mentorship from a creative producer at Shaftesbury, one of Canada’s top production companies.
Expect:
- Live pitches from emerging filmmakers
- Honest, accessible industry feedback
- Insight into how creative ideas are evaluated
- A rare look at the development process
- A lively, engaging audience experience
It’s part masterclass, part live performance, and part creative conversation. And you don’t need to be “in the industry” to enjoy Kingston Script to Screen.
This event is perfect for:
- Film lovers and festival-goers
- Aspiring writers, directors, or producers
- Students and emerging creatives
- Anyone curious about how movies and series get made
You’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for storytelling, development, and the bold ideas behind the screen. Script to Screen is one of KCFF’s most interactive and revealing events.
