Now in its 8th season, Nautical Nights features a wide variety of speakers who draw on the unique power of storytelling to share their perspectives and research. Our second speaker of the season is Ralph Boston!
Speakers cover a range of topics surrounding environmental, social and military histories, as well as current issues or phenomenon. These unique evenings are now offered in the atmospheric galleries at the Great Lakes Museum.

Life on the Cayuga
In 1942 Ralph Boston, a 14-year-old high school student, took up the position of baggage and freight officer on the Canada Steamship Line’s S.S. Cayuga. Moving thousands of passengers a day from Toronto to Niagara Falls from 1907 until 1960, the Cayuga was an integral part of the life of Toronto.
Ralph will share his experiences of several seasons aboard the Cayuga in the early years of the Second World War. You won’t find these stories in any text book!
This event will be live streamed. The link for the live stream will be sent the day of the event.
