Historic Inns

Secret Garden Inn

About Kingston’s Historic Inns

The Sydenham Ward neighbourhood boasts an impressive number of stately 19th-century homes that now welcome tourists as bed and breakfasts. Decorated with original furnishings, these former residences would make ideal settings for period productions.

Notable establishments include: the Rosemount Inn, a Tuscan-style villa built in 1849 featuring a pillared verandah; the Frontenac Club Inn, an ivy-covered circa-1845 limestone building that was once a bank; the 1888 Secret Garden Inn with its Queen Anne-style columns and plaster archways; the Hochelaga Inn, an 1879 French Victorian mansion with multiple fireplaces; and Hotel Belvedere, another elegant 1880 Victorian property which boasts 20 unique rooms in classic style.
