Since Canada’s oldest and most notorious prison was decommissioned in 2013, the site has become a popular location for film and TV production, among other locations in the city. And 2019 was a record-breaking year for Kingston, with more than 80 productions shot here, including Titans (Netflix), Star Trek: Discovery (CBS), and Murdoch Mysteries (CBC).

On this tour, we’ll explore some of the locations on Queen’s campus and nearby neighbourhoods that have been pivotal in the development of the film community in Kingston.

From student shorts to Hollywood blockbusters, experimental videos and passionate documentaries, Kingston continues to inspire films and filmmakers.
