It’s a girls’ night out with a cause. Bring on the Bling, the annual fundraising gala for Dress for Success Kingston, takes place at the Ambassador, celebrating 7 years of bringing women together for a night of sparkle. Attendees of the event can look forward to cocktails, appetizers, shopping (a number of local women-led businesses will have vendor tables set up at the event), silent and live auctions as well as moving speeches from clients that Dress for Success has served.
Attendees of Bring on the Bling not only get a great night out, everyone also goes home with a piece of jewelry – all of which have been generously donated by local businesses and makers. Everyone who comes to Bling receives a numbered ticket upon arrival. Donated pieces are set up for viewing at the beginning of the event and later on the numbers are called at random and people can then select the piece they like. “It gets a little wild when we start calling numbers,” says MacDonald, “but every piece is so beautiful that no one goes home unhappy.”
