Active Kingston

However you like to keep active, you'll find it in Kingston

Kingston makes it really easy to be active and outside all year long – there’s hiking along the many nature trails and provincial parks, climbing the country’s highest indoor climb at The Boiler Room, and kayaking/canoeing/windsurfing/swimming at so many prime waterfront locations (among many, many more) that it’s actually kind of hard not to.

The Boiler Room

Climb Canada’s highest indoor climb at The Boiler Room Climbing Gym! The Boiler Room provides a safe and fun atmosphere where climbers of all ages and abilities can enjoy a positive and rewarding experience. Climbers can choose among several types of full gym use and bouldering memberships, climbing courses, and work out sessions.

Winter Sports

Some don’t like the cold, but we Kingstonians embrace it. From skiing and snowshoeing through the snow covered trails of our many beautiful conservation areas, to skating in Market Square against the beautiful downtown backdrop – Kingston was made for winter sports and activities.

Hiking + Running

Looking to take a picturesque walk, jog, hike or run? Kingston has more than 200 beautiful parks you can visit year-round so running, jogging or power walking are always an option – and with picturesque conservation areas like Lemoine Point and Cataraqui Creek, hiking and experiencing nature is a treat.

On the water

We’re a waterfront city, and we know a thing or two about making the most of it. We’re fluent in kayaking, canoeing, sailing, cruising (no, not that kind), windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding and just about anything that involves getting in or on the water – and we’d love to show you.

Golf

Golfers have long known that Kingston is a prime spot in Ontario to spend a day swinging away– with the most golf courses in Canada (according to Score Magazine), we have one for everyone’s skill level and pace – with lessons, proshops, rentals and food available at many.

Adventure

We’re not saying we have basejumping clubs or anything, but there are still options for adrenaline junkies. In Kingston, you can climb Canada’s highest indoor climb, deep water dive and explore sunken ships, take a motorcycle ride to The County, take a trekking trip through the trees, and play an impressive array of watersports.

Cycling

Rent a bike or bring your own – and spend a day exploring the winding roads and trails while taking in the beautiful Kingston scenery. Find a route you like, like the Battersea to Sunbury Route or the Varty Lake Ride – and head out on your next adventure!
