With over 5000 square feet of exhibit space and gift shop, the MacLachlan Woodworking Museum is located at 2993 Highway 2 at the entrance of scenic Grass Creek Park. This beautiful site along the St.Lawrence River offers many ways to extend your stay after you visit the Museum:

  • Enjoy the sand beach and go for a swim.

  • Over 100 acres of park for you to explore.

  • Watch the herons, geese and other wildlife.

  • Bring a picnic and use the barbecue facilities.

  • Use the playground and covered gazebo.

Accessibility At The Museum

The MacLachlan Woodworking Museum has some accessible features, but with some limitations due to the historic design of the log house that forms part of the site. Currently, the City of Kingston is working to improve access with the introduction of a number of modifications in the near future. The following list provides information about accessibility at the Museum for anyone planning a visit.

  • The main floor of the log house can be accessed using the pathway leading to the rear door.

  • The exhibit building can be accessed using the pathway leading to the front doors. An accessible washroom is located inside the front doors on the left.

  • The interactive children's exhibit located on the upper floor of the log house is not accessible, but many of the family activities can be made available in another location within the Museum by request.

  • Currently there is limited accessibility to the grounds surrounding the Museum.

  • When booking a tour or planning a visit, please contact the Museum and staff will make every effort to accommodate accessibility requirements.
